The United States of America (commonly United States, USA, US or just America) is a federal republic in North America, extending from the northern Mexican border and the Gulf of Mexico to the Arctic. It is among the most populous and economically productive countries on Earth, accounting for a substantial share of global industrial output and maintaining one of the world’s largest standing armed forces.

Since 2058, the United States has been engaged in a violent secession crisis in Dallas America, which has disrupted much of its industrial economy and produced sustained violence throughout the secessionist territories. A ceasefire and lend-lease agreement over nuclear strategic sites came into effect in February 2059 and has reduced day-to-day hostilities, but the political situation remains unresolved.
