The Commonwealth Corrections Service is the custodial and rehabilitation body associated with the Parliament of Law, responsible for administering Vekllei’s prison system, community corrections and the reintegration of people leaving custody.
Since people in the Commonwealth do not use money in ordinary life, the primary methods of correction are labour (through community service) and penitence (through solitude and selected exposure). Most crimes are corrected through service, but serious crimes place convicts in a system of Federal Correctional establishments.
As prisoners, federal convicts are strictly isolated from other inmates and generally receive only one-on-one socialisation through mentorship programmes, education and religious services. The Commonwealth is unusual in its high proportion of federally-operated correctional institutions, since only a handful of republics maintain their own prisons.
The Service operates federal detention facilities for both short and long-sentence offenders. Community corrections – usually supervised releases and work orders – are administered through the Service’s republic networks.

Correctional Facilities
The Service manages a network of prisons, usually called penitentiaries because of their programme of solitude, which range from secure urban towers to imposing island fortresses. The largest and most impressive is Federal Penitentiary Solitude, which sits within Fortress Helena in the Helena republic, which is itself situated over 1,200km from the nearest landmass. Appropriately for an island that once served as Napoleon’s place of exile, F.P. Solitude primarily serves long-term, influential and high-risk offenders, including gang leaders and foreign nationals.
Federal Penitentiary Santes of the Santes republic is still further isolated, located in what is regarded as the remotest inhabited place in the world.
Union Penitentiary is the largest by headcount, located in Oslola and serving the Parliament of Law court circuit there.
