The Bureau of Agriculture is part of the Ministry of Landscape.
The Bureau of Agriculture supports food production and manages biosecurity across Vekllei’s island republics. Agriculture in Vekllei is complicated by geography – many republics are small, low-lying or volcanic, with limited arable land, and several depend heavily on nuclear desalination and controlled-environment growing for food security. The bureau coordinates between municipal farms, industrial food producers and the research programmes of the LSRE to maintain adequate production across the Commonwealth.
Alongside food production, the bureau administers biosecurity at Vekllei’s borders to prevent the spread of agricultural pests and diseases between the ecologically distinct island republics. Animal welfare standards and veterinary services for farming animals also fall under its remit.
