Coretti Adoula is one of only three female infantry volunteers in the Zaire Emergency Regiment.
The volunteers are a Vekllei initiative to support the Red Cross in north-east Congo and prevent ethnic cleansing. Coretti was born in Leopoldville but grew up in the USSR and Vekllei.
