All Commonwealth equipment is marked “NAVY” thanks to a quirk of history. It’s a shorthand for military, and doesn’t necessarily imply maritime aviation.

Originally designed as a jet trainer, the Armed Forces found the Aurora’s glider-like manoeuvrability made it a great strafing jet.

While advanced fighters are useful for peer adversaries, more combat is taking place in remote, asymmetric bush wars that need different kinds of weapons.
