The Bureau of Water is part of the Ministry of Light & Water.
The Bureau of Water (Commonwealth Water Commission, commonly Hydroburo) is responsible for providing potable drinking water and wastewater services across Vekllei. Water access is guaranteed universally in Vekllei, and the bureau maintains a presence in every republic to deliver this. It is part of the Ministry of Light & Water.
Water supply varies considerably across the Commonwealth. In Oslola and Kala, most drinking water comes from glacial runoff and requires minimal treatment. On low-lying limestone islands, freshwater is scarce and the bureau relies on rainwater catchment, aquifer management and desalination. The majority of industrial desalination is nuclear-powered, using plants operated by the Hydroburo in conjunction with the Bureau of Light.
